In her main address, Minister Babalanda conveyed warm greetings from H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, First Lady Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, the Secretary of the Office of the President, Hajji Yunus Kakande, and the entire staff of the Office of the President.

The President made the remarks today while officiating at the grand inauguration and key handover ceremony of the Kampala Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Kampala in Nsambya, Makindye Division, Kampala.

The Head-Of-State had stood over the signing of the two Bills and returned them to Parliament for reconsideration, objecting to clauses he said could create unfair competition, encourage tax avoidance and negatively affect economic activity.

The two-day assessment was led by OWC Deputy Chief Coordinator Brig Gen Godfrey Muwanguzi, who urged investors to adhere to project timelines and ensure accountability in the use of government resources.

The problem is not limited to one country. Across Africa, millions of young people enter the labour market every year, while formal employment opportunities remain limited.

The duty to resist this vice is therefore not optional. The 1995 Constitution obligates every citizen to combat corruption, and confronting this notorious monster requires utmost commitment, courage and sustained action.

In her remarks, Hon. Babalanda said although the ceremony was simple, what is being done is very important for the sustainability of the country.

He said Egypt had closely followed Uganda’s leadership, particularly its efforts to promote dialogue and cooperation among member states of the Nile Basin Initiative.

Having had the opportunity to work with the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC), I have come to appreciate that international cooperation is about more than meetings between governments and agreements between institutions. At its heart, it is about people.
