Derrick Kaddu Mbojjana, a lay leader at Mukono diocese found hard time to cover an event organized by the Buganda Kingdom official, specifically the second deputy head of Kyaggwe Ssaza County (Ssekiboobo) over the weekend.
The Ssekiboobo Fred Katende held a thanksgiving ceremony for his appointment at Katende gardens in Kalagi were he hired Kaddu, an ordinand at Uganda Christian University (UCU) to offer photography services.
However, the day turned dark for Kaddu when Bugerere County Head (Mugerere) arrived in the middle of and saw him at the event.
Mugerere approached the Chief Guest Joseph Kawuki who is the kingdom minister for Local government and reported Kaddu for aiding breaking Bugerere Ssaza offices with an intention subjugating them for the Ssebanyala in Kayunga.
This website has established that Kaddu using his vehicle transported goons to the offices and remained inside the vehicle monitoring.
A video clip obtained by this website; his vehicle is seen departing the venue at a high speed as residents who are Buganda royalists attempted to stoned it.
Upon receiving the information, Kawuki instructed the first deputy Ssekiboobo to liaise with the organizing committee to stop him from conducting other activity immediately.
He also instructed that such characters never be accorded a chance to take part in Buganda Kingdom activities.
The situation created tense moments at the event but sorted after the retired bishop of Mukono James William Sseggala intervened and asked the kingdom officials not publicly embarrass Kaddu since he is a church lay leader.
At this time, Kaddu had noticed the situation and positioned himself in a safe place where he could easily disappear in case he was aggressively targeted.
Kaddu served as Mukono diocese communication’s officer during the regime of Bishop Sseggala but was dropped by the current bishop, Enos Kagodo for embezzling money meant to facilitate journalists during his consecration.
Bishop Kagodo took the move following a petition signed by all journalists working in Mukono complaining about his inappropriate characters.
The bishop also transferred him from Seeta Junior Schools where he was working as the chaplain to Mavunikire.
In the latest transfers, he was transferred to Ndese but due to its closeness to Kayunga district, Christians rejected him since they heard about the dubious activities he facilitated at Kayunga.
Buganda royalists in Kyaggwe have supported the minister’s move of banning him from their events and advised to concentrate on serving the Ssebanyala. Kaddu is the communications officer for Bunyala Chiefdom.
