The official election date for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker has been designated for May 25th this year. President Museveni is said to have met both the current Speaker Anitah Among and Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa on Thursday.

Both Carol Nanyondo and Willy Lugoloobi pledged to restore island dignity by respecting and supporting the integrity of Lake Victoria by ensuring fish stocks increase with good fishing practices.

President Museveni has also appointed Her Worship, Agnes Alum as the new Chief Registrar.The name of the new Deputy Chief Justice has been sent to Parliament, awaiting approval.

Hajj is the 5th Pillar of Islam.Last week, President Museveni sponsored a total of 150 Muslims for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Kamugisha further noted that the association loaned the money to 43 of its members.

Ugandan MPs who are part of the delegation also raised similar sentiments, calling for a firm stand against intimidation by the European Parliament.
