The young people in Kalungu District have rejected Kalungu West Member of Parliament Joeeph Gonzaga Ssewungu was last weekend frustrated as the young people asked him to leave a play ground since he had abandoned them for a long time. 

Hon. Nabakooba also pointed to improved street lighting and enhanced security, which have given rise to a vibrant night economy.

The event was attended by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Ministers, Members of Parliament, District Councillors, Chairpersons, NRM leaders in the region and members of Obudhingiya wa bwamba and Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu.

This is an uproar in Irongo sub county, Luuka District after the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi abandoned voters who were supposed to take part in the fresh party election at the parish level. 

Some leaders have held positions for extended periods, becoming detached from the needs and aspirations of the younger generation. This has led to a perception that the party is stuck in the past, failing to adapt to the changing times.

He comes at a time when Alintuma Nsambu, a Ugandan Ambassador contesting for the same seat is accused of disrespecting Kabaka Mutebi when he likened himself to the King. 

More controversially, local leaders and rising politicians have accused Kadaga of using her influence to intimidate or suppress leaders who do not align with her politically. This alleged culture of political gatekeeping, they argue, has stifled fresh ideas and discouraged the emergence of new leadership that could lift Busoga out of poverty.
