The race for the NRM Central Executive Committee position for the Vice Chairperson in the Central Buganda Region is becoming more and more interesting as Ugandans in the NRM party strive to get the ultimate choice.
Well as a number of Districts in the Katonga, South Buganda, Savanah, Wamala and Ssezibwa Regions have gone ahead to make glaring declarations, Hon Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo has surpassed support despite his unwavering love and commitment to serve the people within the Central Buganda Region.
Polls from the six major sub regions that make up Buganda (Central) have lifted the Minister to being the most loved and best go to person for leadership.
A survey conducted by the information and research center indicates that the NRM leader from Kyotera who also doubles as the Minister of State for Finance in charge of Microfinance is leading with a 72% support from the constituency he intends to lead in the Central Executive Committee. He is followed by Mr. Hakim Kyeswa who ganres 17% from the polls while Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi who currently holds the position comes third 7%.
Hon Kasolo has been moving around the region receiving triumphant entry. On Thursday, the Minister was overwhelmingly welcomed in Kalangala District with all NRM leaders endorsing his candidature for the Central Executive Committee Position.
“We not only welcome you. We also put trust in the fact that you are a tested leader who will steer up our region and fast track the revitalization of our party, NRM within the Buganda Region,” said Sande Gerald Kayita, the NRM Chairperson in Kalangala District.
Prior to jetting into Kalangala, the Minister, together with Hon Gyaviira Ssemwanga had traversed the other Buganda Region Districts where they all endorsed Hon Kasolo for the Vice Chairperson NRM CEC in charge of Buganda.
The all round flamboyant Minister is expected to replace Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi, the current Vice Chairperson in Buganda.
He (Kasolo) is considered the new doyen expected to make NRM win the South Buganda and other sub regions within the Buganda Regional constituency.
