Court makes new order on NUP’s file at EC

 

The high court in Kampala has ordered the Electoral Commission not to any any new development, document or update to the National Unity Platform File at the Electoral Commission until the disposal of the an application of a temporal injunction of the NUP activities until ownership and governance issues are resolved.

 

 

The order was given by Justice Simon Peter Kinobe after former party leaders Paul Ssimbwa Kagombe, Moses Nkonge Kibalama, Moses Luyinda, among others petitioned court, seeking the suspension of the NUP party Electoral activities until governance is streamlined.

 

The team accuses among others, Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, Mr. David Lewis Rubongoya, Joel Ssenyoni and others of engaging in fraudulent activities that led to the change of the party constitution without due process.

 

 

They also accused the team of sending them away from the party leadership in contravention with the initial agreement signed by both teams as they changed party leadership and ownership in 2020.

 

 

The hearing date of the case is yet to be fixed by the high Court.
