Kampala, Uganda – In a strongly-worded statement released yesterday, @Ssebamala Richard, the Democratic Party (DP) Presidential candidate, has denied allegations that he has been removed from the party’s presidential race.
According to Sebamala, the decision to allegedly disqualify him was made by “agents of our enemies who were scared by our candidature and thought the only way to stop me was to disqualify me.” He vowed to continue his campaign, stating, “I want to assure them that it won’t be that easy to get rid of me.”
Sebamala highlighted his extensive campaign efforts, saying he has “traversed the whole country more than any candidate and reached all delegates,” who are now eagerly awaiting the opportunity to vote on Friday, May 30, 2025.
The DP Presidential candidate also emphasized the party’s principles, stating that it is “a People based Party which doesn’t belong to any individuals.” He added that no single individual should have special rights over others, including the Electoral Commission.
Sebamala concluded by asserting his determination to proceed with his candidacy, declaring, “I WON’T LET THEM DOWN.” The Democratic Party and the Electoral Commission have been urged to investigate these allegations and ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
The development has sparked a heated debate among political observers, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the matter. As the country prepares for the upcoming elections, the DP and the Electoral Commission are under pressure to clarify the situation and ensure that the electoral process is free and fair.
In related news, supporters of Sebamala have taken to social media to express their solidarity with the candidate, using the hashtag #JusticeForSebamala. The campaign is expected to gain momentum in the coming days as the country heads towards the elections.
