The Speaker for Entebbe Municipal Council Modesta Tezikyabiri who succumbed to multiple organ failure has been buried at the Kisubi Catholic Graveyard.
Tezikyabiri who represented the People With Disabilities on the municipal council was elected Speaker in 2021.
However on Friday, she was pronounced dead after suffering from a number of illnesses.
She has for long been considered a mediator, calm and hardworking woman.
She initiated a school for children with special needs in Entebbe and had been striving to have such children get all their basic needs for survival.
Despite being disabled, Tezikyabiri was considered the brain steering Entebbe Municipal Council after the wear and tear of the current leadership within the Municipality that is characterized by the 2021 Electoral violence.
She was buried in the Kisubi Catholic graveyard, making her wish valid. She has been in the council for the past 25 years. She also started the Modesta Foundation to support children with special needs.
