Former Victoria University ICT Boss elected Chairperson of the Electrical & Electronic Engineers Institute

 

 

Dr. Lwanga Kintu Fred also known as Ssemaala, the former Dean of the ICT faculty at Victoria University has been elected to the Prestigious Institute of the Electrical and Electronic Engineers as its National Chairperson.

 

The Institute, whose footsteps are marked world wide brings together all Engineers in the electric and electronic sectors, not only in Uganda, but also several other countries across the globe. The Institute’s major role is advancing technology across the world.

 

 

Lwanga, who previously served as a Principal Lecturer at the Uganda Institute of ICT will now steer at the strategic helm of the Electronic and Electrical engineers body in the country, positioning him amongst the global technology leaders.

 

 

“In this role, he provides global leadership and representation across engineering, ICT, emerging technologies and innovation eco systems,” a statement by the Institute this website has seen reads in part.

 

 

He (Lwanga) brings more than two decades of executive governance in technology, digital transformation, public sector regulations and higher education leadership. He previously also served as a Technology Consultant and the Head of ICT at Multitech Business School. He is also widely consulted by Governments, private sector entities and international agencies on ICT and emerging technologies.

 

 

He is also an internationally accredited as a charter manager (CMgr), Certified Artificial Intelligence Consultant and his leadership is expected to deepen industry – Academia collaboration, accelerate innovation and strengthen professional capacity development of Uganda’s technology advancement at the global stage.
