Fruits Of Her Works: MP Nambooze education beneficiary wins WASH Ambassadorial role

Violah Nakyanzi is a clear indication that all people need to be supported to achieve goals, set objectives, and triumph.

Through the “Tereeza Mpigi nga oweelera omwaana wo mu busobozi bwo,” the Mpigi District Woman Member of Parliament Hon Teddy Nambooze identified Violah Nakyanzi, 21 year old from Jjeza, Mawokota, Mpigi District.

Nakyanzi was incorporated into the program and started attaining education.

She was on the 13th of this month named the Wash Ambassador by the Rotary District 9213 (ROTARYD9212) 7 by 7, after a Miss Tourism- Buganda contest with more than 18 people from the 18 counties that make up the kingdom.

Wash is a water and sanitation program that strides to find solutions to poor sanitation and the use unsafe water within communities in Uganda.

Nakyanzi will now be an ambassador for the Tourism within the Buganda Region, just like many of the other contestants, making a case for the vast potential for the beautiful sceneries, sanctuaries and sites.

To come out of an inverted pyramid of sheer transformational power is such a tremendous achievement. It takes brain power and the tenacity to show cause of why you can be selected.

“If she hadn’t been Hon Teddy Nambooze to outsource the brilliant young lady, we wouldn’t find the talents she holds in the changing world. We also thank the vision of the MP for raising such children for a better future,” said Barak Kassim Kasasa, one of the organizers of the event.

Hon Teddy Nambooze, the Mpigi District Woman Member of Parliament has since being elected to office, in 2021, been striving to support the vulnerable underprivileged children with opportunities to go back to school learn and also attain skills for a better future.

More than 2000 children from all the sub counties in Mpigi District have benefited from the programs which also include tailoring, hairdressing, and cottage industry making skills.
