The Democratic Front Electoral Commission has today nominated Michael Kakembo Mbwatekamwa, the Member of Parliament for Entebbe Municipality, to participate in the DF primaries in preparation for the upcoming national elections scheduled for January 2026.
Michael Kakembo has been nominated alongside a number of councilors and division mayors from Entebbe Municipality who are also seeking the party’s clearance to participate in the party’s primaries in preparation for the forthcoming elections.
After his nomination, Hon. Michael Kakembo informed the public that he has no regrets about leaving his former party, NUP, for DF, noting that his dreams and desires are to engage in mature and constructive politics for the good of the country, rather than resorting to mediocre tactics.
The Democratic Front President, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, while addressing the cheerful delegation accompanying Hon. Kakembo to the nomination event, commended him for making a bold decision to reject mediocrity in favor of reasoned politics.
Mpuuga appealed to the voters of Entebbe Municipality to reject politics driven by convenience in favor of politics guided by reason and ideas, noting that Hon. Kakembo is a formidable legislator and politician who embodies this approach.
Additionally, the DF Electoral Commission has nominated Moses Banalekaki, a young member of the party who is aspiring for the position of Kampala City Lord Mayor.
Banalekaki informed the media after his nomination that Kampala City urgently needs a youthful leader with new ideas that will benefit the younger generation, which forms the majority.
