Kaweesi Sulaiman: The new NRM doyen in Mpigi

 

He started off as a fisherman from Kamaliba landing site, turned Chairperson of the village, a tomato farmer and a trader within Mpigi and the nearby Kalungu.

 

 

He is now at the triumph of high achievement. Sulaiman Kaweesi is the new NRM District Chairperson for Mpigi District.

 

 

A grassroot mobilizer and coordinator of all NRM – Office of the National Chairperson in greater Katonga, the leadership looks out to Kaweesi to reignite the will of the party within the area.

 

 

Calm and composed, fresh and flamboyant, Kaweesi won with 247 votes as Hajji Hood passed the baton to the young community mobilizer.

 

 

Hood had gotten just one vote while other competitors, Aloysius Luwangwa and Grace Nabukenya, each got nine votes.

 

 

To come off on top of a great pyramid of sheer mobilization power, Kaweesi had brought up demonstrated proclivity in making NRM triumphant within the Greater Katonga region

 

 

From Kamaliba to Muduuma, his name rings a bell in all people minds, making the party awakened within the area. Now, former MPs Susan Nakawuki and former Minister Anne Amelia Kyambadde, other district leaders, bench on his commitment, love for the party, and affectionate works towards the success of the party leader, President Yoweri Museveni and the subsidiary leaders in the coming elections.

 

 

In his congratory remarks, Kaweesa said, “You don’t have to speak alot, when you do good, you are appreciated,” Kaweesi said.

 

 

He now has to work with Eria Nakimera, the Chairperson of the Women’s league to take the NRM Party within Mpigi District forward, “a job he has so far done with immense love,” says Anne Amelia Kyambadde.
