Mpuuga’s DF humbles NUP in Masaka youth elections

The new Formation of the Democratic Front under the leadership of the Commissioner of Parliament Mathias Mpuuga has humiliated the National Unity Platform in Masaka City after the former won majority of the youth MP slots in the area.

Declaration forms this website has seen indicate, Mpuuga won majority of the youth election slots as NRM came second.

NUP only won two slots.

The Democratic Front triumph within Masaka illustrated the overzealous confidence the people in the greater Masaka region continue to hold in the Hon Mathias Mpuuga.

Mpuuga previously served as the Deputy President of the National Unity Platform. He was however removed from the position by appointment and replaced with Butambala County MP Muwanga Kivumbi.

However, Kivumbi is yet to prove his worth since Mpuuga had assembled a team in 2020 that supported the party to win several youth council slots.

In Kalangala, the ruling National Resistance Movement won youth council elections with an overwhelming 73% vote tramping NUP in a far second position.

NUP could not even field candidates in many of the youth election positions in Kalangala. The Woman MP for Kalangala Helen Nakimuli, who is also a NUP leader was left angered after NUP only won, by half Kalangala Town Council and lost the rest of the six sub counties that make up the District.
