She hasn’t waited to be sworn in but, tirelessly carrying on the responsibility of upholding Mpigi with the education initiatives. This is done under her “Kkola Hon Teddy Nambooze ow’enkya mu Uganda empya”.
On Saturday, more than 2000 pupils and students from the primary, secondary, and tertiary level met Hon Nambooze and discussed modalities on how they will all be incorporated into school at a lower cost.
For every student under her care, Hon Teddy Nambooze offers half bursaries to help them attain education at schools available within Mpigi and the nearby and neighboring districts.
The pupils also get books, pens, and a number of scholastic materials used in school for better learning.
“We need to start immediately. For our people to become the next Members of Parliament or leaders, they must have attained the required qualifications and so, we should fight hard to enable them attain them by giving them the opportunity to learn,” Hon Teddy Nambooze says.
The “Tereeza Mpigi nga osomesa omwaana wo mu busobozi bwo” program has been implemented ever since Hon Teddy Nambooze became a Member of Parliament in 2021.
She also asked school directors, owners and Head Teachers to accommodate all students even when they have meager resources, allow them pay in installments to ensure that they do not miss any learning opportunity in this new term.

Number of children under her programs m care are now more than 12000 including those in Primary, Secondary and the tertiary level.
The MP also started a skilling center in Mpigi where people who desire for skills in tailoring, art and crafts, book, chalk making, bakery, among other skills go and attain such skills to start generating income.
Teddy Nambooze, an NUP leader is the only seating Member of Parliament in Mpigi District who won the hearts of the dwellers in the area to return for another term.
Others including Hillary Kiyaga alias Dr. Hilderman (Mawokota North), Yusuf Nsibambi (Mawokota South) were trounced by NRMs Amelia Kyambadde and Susan Nakawuki in the respective constituencies.
The residents attribute Nambooze’s return to the impactful education project that she has handled for the past five years and yet, she continues with the same program.
“Many of our children are now back to school, learning and our literacy rates are improving only because of her tireless work. She has helped us understand the role of education in communities,” says Abdul Mugerwa, at elder in Mpigi town.
