The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Ben Kumumanya, has ordered the interdiction of 19 officers in Kapchorwa District Local Government.
In a letter to the Chief Adminstrative Officer of Kapchorwa District Local Government, the Permanent Secretary, Kumumanya says serious issues were raised against the officers including Gross Negligence of Duty, Abuse of Office, Mismanagement of Public Resources and possible Financial Impropriety that has compromised service delivery in the district.
The instruction directs the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Kapchorwa to interdict the officers with immediate effect under Section (F-s) 14 of the Public Service Standing Orders, 2021 to pave way for investigations by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and other relevant government agencies.
Among those interdicted are the District Engineer Eng. Musobo Joseph, District Education Officer Mr. Owen Kweko, District Production Officer Mr. Felix Sabila, Principal Human Resource Officer Mr. Patrick Mwanga, District Water Officer Mr. David Olal, Municipal Engineer Eng. Bob Cherop, Town Clerk Sipi Town Council Mr. Robert Butala, Secretary District Service Commission Mr. Abas Chekwot and 11 others.
Copies of the letter were sent to the Minister of Local Government, Inspector General of Government, Head of Public Service and the Head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.
