Mpigi District Woman representative, Hon. Teddy Nambooze has joined the catholic church at Our Lady of Consolation, Katende parish.
The parish priest, Edward Ssebuliba, the leaders of the elderly Kalungi Godfrey and Josephine Nalukwaago brought together more than 300 elderly persons.
The celebrations started with mass and later, each elderly person was awarded a package that included sugar, soap and other assortments.
The elderly were also taught on ways to avoid stress and “we also asked them to believe and trust God, the sole provider and giver,” Hon Teddy Nambooze the Mpigi district woman MP says.
Most of the elderly said, they were struggling to get funds for the older persons deliberated by government of Uganda every quarter.

However, Hon Teddy Nambooze promised to support the team be enrolled on the Elderly funds program deliberated by Government.
“We have many of them register cases of threatening violence from their grand children who want to take away their land. I will support all of them with legal procedures and other work to ensure they are safe and sound,” Hon. Nambooze says.
She added, “caring for the elderly is a blessing, especially when we all moot to getting tot the old age.” Hon Nambooze added.
