The bible trains us to care for the sick, needy and helpless, same way we care for the friends, family loved ones and the comrades.
It is upon such background that Nsambya babies home organized a run that would support such the less priviledged with universal and basic care.
The fouth edition of the run named Charity walj which recently was attended by hundreds of participants, aimed at raising support for vulnerable children under the care of the home.
The run was attended notably by the laitey in the Cathoric Church, Govoner Bank of Uganda Michael Atingi-Ego, Mpigi District Woman MP Teddy Nambooze, several Ministers, the Uganda Revenue Authority, Centenary Bank, among other stakeholders.
Proceeds from the charity walk are aimed at supporting the home’s child welfare programmes of Nsambya babies home and another Kankobe babies home situates at Kankobe parish in Mawokota, Mpigi District that supports the less priviledged.
The different leaders donated to the cause through the run and physical donations to the two homes.
Mpigi District Woman MP, Hon. Teddy Nambooze asked parents across the divide, especially in Mpigi District to, among other things, “to continuously avoid situations that lead to the production of children and avoid abandoning those delivered if you are not prepared.”
Hon. Nambooze added that it is important to give children the necesary parental care since it is more importat.
“My prayer is that we support all those children we have prepared for, exceedingly well. Children need to grow up with their children to avoid challenges,” Hon. Nambooze said.
She thanked all those who donated to the cause and asked those who haven’t to support them. “These are all our childre. Government ought to also support our children because they all belong to the nation.” She said.
The proceeds collected from the fundraising drive will be communicated to the society and the country at large. The Minister for ICT, Rt Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba was the chief guest at the function.
