Parliament gas cleared Kalangala MP elects, Birungi Carol Nanyondo (Kyamuswa County) and Willy Lugoloobi (Bujumba) for swearing in as 12 Parliament members.
The Clearance was done on Monday at Parliament. They both joined Parliament on the NRM ticket.
Hon. Lugoloobi will replace Julius Mukasa Opondo who served as the Bujumba County MP for two terms while Hon. Carol Nanyondo Birungi will replace Moses Kabuusu as Kyamuswa County MP.

Swearing in is expected on 13th May, immediately after the swearing in of the Head of State, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Kololo independence grounds.
The two MPs, both on the NRM ticket have outlined a number of issues to improve islanders welfare which include better service delivery in Health and Education, improving fishing practices for the fisherfolk and improved practices in Palm Oil Growing.
The two MPs have previously been vocal leaders, raising voices of islanders in the house and at the District level. Lugoloobi previously served as the District Chairperson for Kalangala while Hon. Nanyondo served as the Kyamuswa County MP between 2016 and 2021.
